A footbridge to tranquillity

My eyes were full of wonderment and delight, the first time I walked over Llanthony Lock House Footbridge and my face held a broad smile of excitement. The rickety, but secure bridge must have so many tales to tell. A creaking, ornate iron gate leads onto the bridge (a painting yet to come), a few steps further and the sound of the river swishes as it tumbles over a nearby weir. Birds hop from willow to willow, then the hum of a lawnmower and tap of a hammer is heard, as the H&G Canal Trust volunteers continue their valuable work.
