Volunteers from the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal Trust are active in a number of stretches along the 34 mile route of the old canal. One of the locations is Oxenhall, just outside Newent. It is possible to walk alongside the old towpath for quite a distance and find some of the old bridges which are covered with undergrowth.
